Paraguay’s annual inflation rate held steady at 1.7% in October 2026, unchanged from September and remaining well below the central bank’s 3.5% target. The sharpest price increases were seen in fuels (24.5%), driven mainly by higher diesel prices, and in restaurants and hotels (9.0%). Overall food prices fell by 2.0%, largely due to a significant drop in fruit and vegetable prices (-9.2%). Meanwhile, the prices of goods rose by 0.5%, and inflation in services and income reached 3.8%. Core inflation inched up to 1.4%, from 1.2% in September. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.1%, reversing the 0.1% increase recorded in September.
