Japan Unemployment Rate Ticks Up To 2.7%

The jobless rate in Japan came in at a seasonally adjusted 2.7 percent in January, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said on Tuesday.

That was above expectations for 2.6 percent, which would have been unchanged from the December reading.

The jobs-to-applicant ratio was 1.18 – missing forecasts for 1.19 and down from 1.20 in the previous month.
