Japan’s machine tool order growth quickened markedly in June amid both strong domestic and foreign demand, preliminary data from the Japan Machine Tool Builders Association, or JMTBA, showed on Thursday.
Machine tool orders jumped 52.8 percent year-on-year in June, following a 37.5 percent growth in the previous month. Orders have been rising since July 2025.
Domestic orders grew 45.5 percent from last year, and foreign demand was 56.0 percent higher.
