BofA raised its year-end targets for Japan’s Topix and Nikkei


BofA Global Research has raised its year-end targets for Japan’s Topix and Nikkei Stock Average, citing

  • the U.S.-Japan trade deal,
  • anticipated fiscal stimulus in Japan,
  • and supportive market conditions.

In a note from two of its strategists, BofA said that while cyclical stocks may face headwinds, they still see room for gains.

The firm now expects the Topix to end 2025 at 3,050—up from its earlier forecast of 2,850—and the Nikkei to reach 43,000, revised from 40,000.

Topix is currently around 2,917, while the Nikkei 40,680
